HCS SCS SB 26 & 126 -- VETERANS' RECOGNITION SPONSOR: Johnson (Boucher) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Public Safety, Law Enforcement and Veteran Affairs by a vote of 20 to 0. This substitute requires the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, with the cooperation of the Missouri Veterans Commission, to develop a program to award honorary high school diplomas to all honorably discharged World War I, World War II, and Korean War veterans who did not complete their education after the war. The department and commission must jointly develop the program, to be known as Operation Recognition. These diplomas may be awarded posthumously. FISCAL NOTE: Not available at time of printing.
